Water lettuces, gardens etc..& Vivid

I am currently "working" at Cziplee's counter...as a cashier.
Hehe. So much for working..
Ok time for some photo updates..
Yay!

The development was called I-Damansara or something to that effect. Basically multi million dollar houses for people who can afford the space, the address and the neighbours =) ( I was there as a kepo...)

I love water concepts! These are water lettuces in earthen ware...It is very easy to keep water lettuces. Just keep one, with guppies in a fish tank (to keep the mosquitoes away), and it will quickly multiply.

I remember buying the "mother plant" for just RM 5.00 and it multiplied...so fast. I had to flush some down the..drain =)

There was a pond that was linked from the outside to the inside, and the bedrooms - was furnished with very big, and comfy beds. Design wise, it was alright. Not fantastic but pretty cool.

And finally, one more photo to salute my former HKTB partner - Vivid =)
Hope you're doing well Mrs Riley! And Alisha..is on her left =)
Both my favourite people in the office...then again...most of my office colleagues are a darl to be with...phooooseh!

Penang Trip (Satu hari sahaja)

I am in a mood for....posting photos!
Here are some pictures which are way long overdue!

Our 1 day "Business Trip" to Penang - via AirAsia

We left at 5.00 am in the morning and returned at 4pm in the afternoon.
It was a very fruitful journey. Got to travel interstate, discuss business and returned back to KL in the same day.

This is a yummy yummy breakfast that we had, or Alvin had at Penang. It was at Spice Garden!
The first is of course, english breakfast - protein power! We also had a pinch of very good bagel and cream cheese served with smoked salmon - pinched from I Ming.

Spice Garden is located at Batu Feringhi, and it was such a refreshing change and pace to KL.
The way people walk (gosh, it's way slower - more leisurely), and early in the morning - you could spot people fishing already by the seaside.

Anyway, Spice Garden is way cool - it's like a dedicated tropical paradise - with spices and herbs of all kinds growing.
Best of all was the cafe that we patronized...we had to walk up...a very steep slope...and lots of flights of stairs..(puff puff, jade not so fit!) but..

we were deliciously rewarded with breakfast overloooking sunny, blue sky Penang with beach to boot.
Absolutely heavenly! Not to mention, our tour guide, cum "business partner" who was good company lar...=)
Check out his work at: www.30dayartist.com

That's all for now!...Alvin is hogging the comp!

Ballet - One year later...

Ballet has been good. I am taking three classes a week, and enjoying every class. Best of all - I know most of the steps because I've been taking it longer than the rest of the Grade 5 girls. It feels good to know stuff - to be ahead =)

The only thing that I really have to work on is my flexibility.

This is what I can do:
- I can touch my toes (when doing the curl down, or sitting down and touching toes)
- I can do my splits (right left) (it's not perfect as I am still bending my legs slightly)
- I can do my bridges! (when i started ballet, i couldn't do this at all. I attribute this to stronger arm muscles
- I can take my leg in front of me and extend it sideways (need to not bend the supporting leg though)
- I can do my centre split (but need to widen more)
- pirouttes ( i can do it, when i focus on my arm, and spot head) (if i don't ahaha...i just fall!) (but certainly still a WIP)

What I can't do yet:
- I can't do my arabesque with higher legs, and straigther back
- I can't go all the way down, and do my splits as in, it's perfect, no peek holes
- i can't arch as well (i'm still building on this)

Here are more photos of inspiration to me:

(1st left) : this is a real nice pose.. i can't do it 90, but i can do it...45! =)
(2nd photo, middle): I believe this is called ponche? u need tons of poise, strength and control...
(3rd photo, right): This is arabesque with attitude on pointe (you see her, so composed - you have to have a very strong back, strong arches, metatuscle, and flexibility....=) so pretty!)

Meanwhile,
I am still training in soft leather ballet shoes, I prefer this much more than pointe. Somehow, pointe is so painful! It's like your toes are stuck in a mouse trap - and I blister super easily.

My goals:
I aim to be more flexible, train my arches till it's this good!
And I aim to take my Grade 5 exams next year (2007).
I was told that I could go for Intermediate Foundation, but I believe you got to get the basics right before anything else!

Ballet is a beautiful art which encourages you to keep your poise and keep healthy - for those who are adults, and think that it's way to late to do so - try it! It's really really very rewarding...

PR = $$$$$$$$$ = Mid Life Crisis because of PEOPLE

Friday Slack -off

I am currently slacking at the office =)
It's a Friday and I feeel soo much like relaxing..which i am..ahaha!
To the tune of many who are getting married...congrats!
And..ahem..I might be a bridesmaid next year... yay! ...don't ask me when it's my turn..nonono....

This is turning out to be a shallow post..
other than that =)

Busy Months

what else have i done..ive been real busy for the last June - August period..
was doing prep work for HK..and it been a real good learning experience. I can safely say that I certainly know much more about radio campaigns, print campaigns, contest promotions.
In fact, i believe i am doing the job of an ad agency by placing different ads/advertorials/ running promotions.

It's quite fun too, because - i get to organize events, work with different people - and call on the Media...at which I have made some recent very cool friends.

$$$$$$$ in PR ...YES YES YES!

To boot, yesterday, a friend mentioned that he had this new staff come in - and she was formerly doing inhouse PR for one of the top beauty brands. I believe, to drive to work in a BMW, and get paid a $$$$$ figure - I have some glimmer of hope to expect some form of good & great remuneration and benefits once I pave my way to the top..FINGERS CROSSED.

Apparently she had a mid life crisis, and hated the hours - lack of seeing family and kids and now wanted a change, and was going to dive (nose first) into NGO work - mind you not dealing with beautiful faces or anything to do with tightening your pores, bum, removing lumps of fat - but was for the good cause of animal and forest preservation.

MNC vs NGO - I am MNC skewed & You go PR lady!

(Ps: I've volunteered for that NGO before - and it's way..messy. Not my type of work. Sorry..i no NGO kind. I ruthless MNC or private company kinda person).

To her credit, she's done a great job - with her portfolio being once again PR (public relations if you're reading the blog and still don't get what this two alphabets joinedtogether means) as well as fund raising. She got the NGO free spots, commercial airtime on TV, participation in some high end fund fair, a dinner etc as well as good write ups in the press.

Honestly...it boils down to C-O-N-T-A-C-T-S.

People - The Root of all Good & Evil, what does God say?

Relationships with other people. How you get along etc.

It's either you like or you don't like that person..I always believe first encounters tell loads..especially for client meetings. You can gage a lot from whether you would be able to gel with the person.

Anyways, in my course of work, I do admit that I have become more:

- untrusting of what people say/sceptic
eg: i never trust when people keep nodding their heads, and say YAH YAH YAH! or CAN! CAN! CAN!
this type of response gives me the jitters and i would always have a PLAN B for justincase situations
Out of which in these situations, 60% , PLAN B has to be carried out.
BEWARE!

- savvy
eg: When you meet difficult people, whom you know you HAVE to build a relationship with for the sake of the
business, if not you will suffer - I have had to literally be nice, accomodating and ahem - extremely patient
not to mention, be sweet on the words I use. This is quite a task, and I am learning it!

Sometimes I wonder, wow....how much more "ku wak" must you get to survive..
hahaha...im probably just a beginner compared to others..
but it's quite surreal too..like..is this what God/Jesus wants me to do? To be? Is this how I am supposed to act..

As of now, I have not been struck by a thunderbolt. I guess God is still holding his peace..=)

Move that Boulder!

Midnight is my perfect companion.

That's where the fun begins. In the solitude of the night, the whishing whirls of the fan (unique only to Asian countries, not in the West), and the chirping of "what's it called" bugs with high pitched, but yet soothing calls..I can finally sit down and pen my thoughts.

Today I've learnt new secrets to life's journey, in it's twist and turns...i've discovered new friends, lost old ones...and....slowly becoming perhaps, more subdued through time.

Let me talk about my new discoveries..

1. Geks, Ernest and a new found friend, Lionel (Or Mr Grrrr...) as Al and I would call him, were discussing about the Christian faith, and about the whole concept of Christianity as well as science..and how it matched, or did not match up.

I found out today, though with pinch of salt into what I discussed and heard, that in the high mountains of Tibet, where the Buddhist monks chant, there seems to be a "secret" to the way they chant, that beyond a point of entry - you can't exactly "tape" their chant. It's all white noise. Scratchy, incomprenhensible sounds.

What does chant have to do with the whole issue of discovery?

Open your ears, eyes and minds, friends...and foes alike.

Perhaps, it might have been - the chants could not be recorded for some strange reasons because there was a secret code that refused to be shared to the outside world, or could it be that it's more - a scientific/ technological default that the tape recorder did not work?

What is more interesting is that - the question is asked: How did these Buddhist monks build the maginificent temples, huge, sprawling in the vast and mountainered land of Nepal? How did they move the giant boulders? Same like the Egyptians? How did they, in ancient times - be able to construct amazing features - transport it , carve it to be the beautiful landmarks that still survive?

Some believe that it is in the secret - of the chants.

Is there, a certain click that happens, when a few monks gather and chant, and chant, to a similar tone - that when that tone resonates, the boulder starts moving, without having even a monk lift his finger - to move or touch that boulder.

Literally then, does the boulder move, and roll itself - because of the chant. As the monks chant, and it intensifies - with that same tone - it rolls...all the way to the desired location!

That means---chant to your boulder, and that will move!

I take that with a pinch of salt, but perhaps, it will help us understand how Buddhist monks actually levitate! Maybe it's not spiritual but more - an unlocking of a science theorem. Like how Shaolin monks levitate, fly in the air, do their superbly unnatural stunts - all because of the "chant", and unlocking of an ancient secret - that only the East knew about.

It's interesting to note....

For now, I shall resign to speculation....I believe we should not close our minds to theories, new discoveries...test it indeed..but don't shut out possibillities. God is an amazing God, He is beyond our grasp. A lot of things science has yet to give us answers. Whilst some of us are still stuck in our little hole, finding out the answer - others have already practiced those ancient secrets and answers - the only difference is that...we don't share information.

What is commercially available, is perhaps - not the entirely 100% correct version. Take everything with a pinch of salt, but don't close off options, lest we become ostriches.

One last thought, Jesus said: " You can move mountains if you have faith the size of a mustard seed". To think that, is not impossible, if I truly believed I could chant my way (chanting ha-le-lu-yah) and move Mount Kinabalu) for starters!

I shall try that next time I go East Malaysia..

Project Tampal Muka & Charms...

Yes, that;s me family on the left man. My bro looks like he graduated from Harry Potter's university of some kind. It was quite nice, summer and all. Not too cold, not too hot.

I remember having to "prettify" my brother with tons of tinted moisturizer. Bet you can't see his pimples cuz I covered it so well! Thank me Joni, you owe me for making you look that good!

Charmy Charms has quite a knack for pulling a face. I love the fact that she is SO SO SO organized. Can you imagine, she arranges all her hair clips, her plates, tea cups all in such delicate order!

Something I havta learn from her - being tidy! I am actually one of the "tidiest" at work. Colleagues, testify! Hahaa..but when it comes to my room, it's a totally different story.

One more thing about Charm's is that she's a planner. She already bought her *ahems* present for 2006, anniversary etc etc.

I recall her telling me this: "JADEEEE! You don't have any more petrol in your car! What if we break down half way? What if we can't go up the hill" says Charmy Loke rather exasperately.

"Aiyah..Charm..never hear of reserve tank ah? Sure got few drops left wan. No problem" Jade answers "selambarly"

"You know..my dad always taught me to pump extra, always in advance, must have contingency. Plan ahead! Just in case!" answers Cham, but she knows she can't do much if I don;t budge

Yes, we love each other - but please..we can't live together! =) Right Charms? Posted by Picasa

Another twist to the story

7 March 2006, Kuala Lumpur - With recent reports that a government linked company has been consistently inefficient and "sweeping things under the carpet", there has been major concerns on Malaysian society's lack of efficiency and productivity.

Take for example, the situation at hand.

I am delayed for over hour due to the oversight of a IT personnel that did not load in the wireless system. Back and forth back and forth, we get lead here and there - and alas, a solution arises. With unclear directions on how to use the product being marketed, how can we Malaysians improve in our job scope!

We talk about being more efficient, productive with GDP currently rocketing up to 5% growth this year, but is that merely a "catch up " growth that is so normal for a developing country?

I am WAITING.....

9.14 pm

Stuck in Mid Valley IT Centre.

Blasting Chinese music with the irritating drums giving out a hypnotizing beat.

A phone rings - high pitched.

More irritating Chinese music.

*Ting!*

"The guy says Al's media centre's network, wireless system is up"

I am happy.

Yay!

Oh wait, they go out, and now they return back in, a rush of movements.

I bet they are all wanting to "sau tong".

I hear metal shuttles being pulled down.

It's 4 minutes later.

Will I wait here till 9.30 pm?

I hope not.

Al's talking in pidgin Cantonese.

Some laughter, and now.....I hoep stuff are setlled.

Ahh....bargaining Al in the works.

Let's see whether he gets it!

Ok...time to go soon...=)

Chun & Me (At her sis's wedding, which was right next to Al's buddy's wedding) (Dec 2005)

Me & my buddies at Jehsie's wedding (Feb 2006)

Me & Al (At yet another of his buddy's wedding) (Dec 2005)

Hello World, with Weddings & more weddings..

Hello World,

It's 3 minutes past 6 pm. I am officially supposed to be out of the door, on the road, back home right now! It's been 3 months of silence and I am ready to blurt out my constipated news.

Q: What's been happening with u Jade?
A: Awww..was loads busy starting Sept - December 2005 and it's been hectic. It's only been this week that I've had proper time to do...clean up. Spring cleaning! So proud of myself
Q: Anything new?
A: Yes, I decorated my room. Haha. Yes with Ikea products. I finally got my built in shelves, my curtains (which I got from the kids dept) and a full length mirror, as well as a beetle bug from the kids section, yet again. I find the more "uppety" and "adults only" section so so boring. Then again, maybe I'm living out my childhood dream.
Q: Any trips around the world?
A: The most recent being last week, my expedition to Singapore for Jehsie's wedding. Was such a cool wedding. It was also a good time to catch up with friends whom I haven't seen in a long long time. And, I made a kebaya for the whole wedding theme which was " Peranakan" ie. baba nyonya
Q: Wow...that must have been eye opening. Did you learn any new terms?
A: Like nyonya for ladies and baba for guys =) Cecet I think it was for grandma...
Q: Fast forward to now, like NOW, what you up to after this?
A: I have Actor olympics to rush off to. Hopefully it'll be even better than last year. Hahaha....

(And there you have it, Jade aka the interviewer, having a one-on-one chat with Jade the "busy bee who finally had time to "b-r-e-a-t-h-e".

Did I mention that I need to start eating even more healthier. Cancers scary....and even more so when everyday I eat more meat than the recommended "dosage".

And some nice pics of (whichever order)
